MAKEZIP.EXE version 1.05 - 1/21/90

WHAT IS IT?
───────────
MAKEZIP.EXE is a program designed to convert all your PAK, LZH, ARC,
and ZOO archives to the PKZIP format. MAKEZIP.EXE will act on all files
in the current directory with the PAK, LZH, ARC and ZOO extentions.
Comments can be optionally added to the ZIP file with the "/C" command
line switch. In this mode a file called ZIP.CMT containing the comment
text is required.
MAKEZIP.EXE will use the default PKZIP compression parameters as you
have them set in your PKZIP.CFG file, see your PKZIP documentation for
more information about the .CFG file.
Program operation requires that the programs, PKZIP.EXE, PAK.EXE,
LHARC.EXE, and ZOO.EXE be located in your DOS path. If you are not
converting from all of these formats, then only those archive programs
supporting the formats you are converting are required.
HOW TO USE IT
─────────────
MAKEZIP.EXE is very simple to use. Just put all of your archive programs
and MAKEZIP.EXE in a directory that is in your DOS path. (See your DOS
manual for more information about the PATH statement)
Go to the directory that contains the archived files that
you wish to convert and type:
MAKEZIP
The program will then search for all files in the directory with the
extentions, PAK, LZH, ARC, and ZOO, skipping those extentions it dosn't
find. It will create a temporary working directory called WORK_DIR in
which to process each file. When MAKEZIP has finished converting each
file, it will erase the old archive file leaving you with the ZIP
converted file. When MAKEZIP has finished converting all the files
it will remove the temporary working directory.
To add comments to the Zipfile, first create a text file called ZIP.CMT and
place it in the directory where the archives to be converted are. The ZIP.CMT
file must be created with a plain ASCII text editor or with the "COPY CON"
function of DOS. A sample ZIP.CMT file is included.
The command is then: MAKEZIP /C
To view the built in help screen, type: MAKEZIP /?
Thats all there is to it!
